Federal Cybersecurity Professional Program

The Federal Cybersecurity Professional program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Veterans Cybersecurity Group is proud to be an Official Training Provider for (ISC)² and its globally recognized cybersecurity certifications, including the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP®) and the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP®).

VCSG’s Focus

It’s two-fold.

First is that of a provider of Federal Information Assurance and Cybersecurity consulting services to federal agencies and their contractors. Supplemental to these cyber-risk engagements is our unique mentorship and apprenticeship program allowing active-duty US Military Members to transition to civilian life while still protecting the nations critical infrastructure as Civilian Federal Cybersecurity subject matter experts.

The VCSG Opportunity & Challenge

Veterans Cybersecurity Group (VCSG) is in the business of providing Cybersecurity services to Federal Government Agencies and federal contractors that must comply with significant new federal contractual cybersecurity assessment requirements. The volume of these new vendor certifications is expected to be significant as the DoD’s plan is for its over 300,000 contractors to have the requirement to complete a successful audit as a precontractual requirement prior to contract award. Each of these 300,000 contractors must be certified in less than 5 years.

VCSG Capabilities

VCSG specialty is Federal Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. We provide these consulting services both to Federal Government Agencies with the goal of compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

CMMC Certified Third Party Assessment Organization-C3PAO

Additionally, for Federal Contractors seeking the newly mandated DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) we offer both preaudit assessment services or as a CMMC AB C3APO we can perform an official certification (not both).

Experts in Federal Cybersecurity Compliance and Risk Management

Central to both agency and contractor cybersecurity design and assessment is the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).​1 NIST’s cybersecurity programs seek to enable greater development and application of practical, innovative security technologies and methodologies that enhance the country’s

Federal Cybersecurity Professional Program

Cybersecurity is considered a “high probability of post-service employment”. To that end Veterans Cybersecurity Group is a SkillBridge partner to helping transition veterans find jobs while addressing the Cybersecurity Skills Workforce sills gap that federal contractors are experiencing. VCSG has created the Federal Cybersecurity Professional Program as a training, and mentorship, program specifically crafted for US Military Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific federal cybersecurity standards, training, and apprenticeships during the last 180 days of military service prior to separation.

The VCSG Federal Information Security Professional Program

Works in conjunction with SkillBridge as a complementary education, training, and recruitment program allowing VCSG to meet these specialized cybersecurity manpower needs caused by a growing Cybersecurity Workforce Skills Gap. VCSG plan is to meet the challenge posed by this skills gap by certifying, mentoring, and training highly motivated
recently separated, US Military Veterans. As an accelerated Cybersecurity Program, we align the timetable s with the duration of a SkillBridge program as it is not be more than 180 days and occurs during a participating Service member’s last 180 days on active duty in accordance with guidance described in DoD Instruction 1322.29 Veterans Cybersecurity Group (VCSG) brings the combination of Technology training and on-the-job (OJT) training to assist in the transition from US Service member to US Veteran Cybersecurity Professional. These new veterans are qualified to conduct federal cybersecurity engagements from day one. Not only does VCSG have the need for these new Cybersecurity personnel.
